Dudley Connell and Don Rigsby - Another Saturday Night
Sugar Hill - SUG-CD-3940

Two of the finest singers in bluegrass music and brother duet singing at its best! Dudley and Don fully explore the art form in a classic country/bluegrass vein; from the likes of the Blue Sky Boys, Monroe Brothers and Louvin Brothers to the early sixties Everly Brothers, and songs by stellar songwriters Bob Dylan, Jimmie Skinner, Carl Jackson and Dixie Hall. This is real country music, all the way from crying pedal steel to a brilliant Tom T. Hall recitation. With guests Tim O'Brien, Missy Raines and Randy Kohrs.
Dudley Connell and Don Rigsby know more than a little about singing and playing. After all, they are members of two of the most popular and respected bluegrass bands, the Seldom Scene and the Lonesome River Band.
The duo's love of the "old stuff" led to 1999's collaborative effort Meet Me By The Moonlight and now - even after a prolific couple of years with their respective bands and solo projects - they have reunited to create Another Saturday Night
Stellar musicians play alongside Don and Dudley too - bass queen Missy Raines flows in with the fiddle work of Tim O'Brien while Randy Kohrs adds everything from steel to resophonic guitar (normal people call it a Dobro). This is real country music - complete with a Tom T Hall recitation.
